Head of Growth

Chicago, IL or Remote Full-time Remote Jun 22, 2026

In 1900, France had fewer than 3,000 automobiles on the road.

For most companies, that would have looked like a very small market. The Michelin brothers saw something else: a future that needed to be made easier to enter.

So they created a guide for motorists. It showed drivers where to find fuel, mechanics, hotels, and places to eat. It was not an advertisement for tires in the ordinary sense. It was something more useful. It made the experience of traveling by car more practical, more enjoyable, and more imaginable.

The logic was simple: help people move through the world with more confidence, and more people will choose to move.

Ora is being built around a similar belief.

Modern businesses are not short on financial products. They are surrounded by them. A bank account sits in one place. Cards live somewhere else. Bills, invoices, payroll, accounting, tax preparation, and international payments each create another tool, another login, and another layer of uncertainty.

The result is operational drag.

Ora is building a premium financial operating system for modern businesses: one place for banking, cards, spend, bill pay, invoicing, tax readiness, global financial operations, and intelligent financial guidance.

Our ambition is not to become another financial tool competing for a place in an already crowded stack. It is to become the platform that makes the entire financial life of an ambitious business easier to understand, easier to run, and easier to grow.

We are looking for a Head of Growth to help bring that story to market.

This is a founding growth role for someone who understands that durable growth is not simply about buying attention. It is about earning trust, finding a real customer truth, building a distinctive point of view, and creating systems that turn interest into lasting adoption.

You will work directly with the founder and early team to define how Ora enters the market, attracts its first customers, develops a trusted brand, and builds the repeatable growth engine behind a category-defining company.

*Ora is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through banking partners.

In this role, you will:

  • Own Ora’s growth strategy across positioning, customer acquisition, lifecycle, partnerships, content, community, referral, and expansion.

  • Help define Ora’s initial customer segments, ideal customer profile, launch wedge, and go-to-market strategy.

  • Turn a complex financial platform into clear, emotionally resonant messaging for founders, operators, finance teams, accountants, and globally minded businesses.

  • Build the systems that allow Ora to learn quickly: customer interviews, funnel instrumentation, attribution, conversion analysis, retention analysis, experiment design, and messaging tests.

  • Lead Ora’s early customer-acquisition motion across founder-led marketing, content, SEO, partnerships, communities, outbound experiments, product-led growth, and selective paid channels.

  • Build and manage Ora’s pilot-customer strategy, ensuring we attract the right early customers and learn deeply from how they use the product.

  • Develop campaigns that make Ora feel distinct: premium, calm, intelligent, global, useful, and deeply trustworthy.

  • Partner closely with product and design to improve the full customer journey, from first interaction through onboarding, activation, product adoption, and long-term retention.

  • Establish Ora’s editorial and content engine across the website, founder voice, social channels, newsletters, customer education, and category-defining insights.

  • Build high-trust distribution relationships with accountants, fractional CFOs, founder communities, operators, agencies, ecommerce ecosystems, and strategic partners.

  • Define the metrics, dashboards, operating cadence, and growth experiments that will guide Ora’s commercial decisions.

  • Help build Ora’s future growth organization, including internal systems, external partners, early hires, and the culture behind how the company goes to market.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has 6+ years of experience in growth, marketing, product marketing, go-to-market, or commercial strategy, ideally in fintech, SaaS, payments, financial services, or a high-growth technology company.

  • Has built growth systems in an early-stage or ambiguous environment, rather than only optimizing channels that were already working.

  • Is equally comfortable with brand and performance. You understand that a memorable company earns attention differently than a generic one.

  • Can translate complex products into simple, compelling customer narratives.

  • Has experience across multiple growth disciplines, such as lifecycle marketing, content, SEO, partnerships, paid acquisition, conversion optimization, community, and analytics.

  • Is highly analytical and knows how to identify meaningful signals, set useful metrics, and make decisions under uncertainty.

  • Has strong written communication and exceptional taste. In a financial category, every campaign and customer touchpoint must reinforce trust.

  • Understands how to talk to founders, business owners, operators, and finance teams without relying on generic startup language.

  • Works well across product, design, partnerships, sales, operations, and leadership teams.

  • Has high agency. You see an unclear opportunity, form a point of view, and create momentum without waiting for a detailed playbook.

Especially valuable, but not required:

  • Experience in business banking, cards, spend management, payments, accounting technology, tax software, global finance, or financial infrastructure.

  • Experience building founder-led growth, category-creation campaigns, or an early-stage brand from the ground up.

  • Existing relationships with accountants, fractional CFOs, business operators, founder communities, ecommerce brands, agencies, or startup ecosystems.

  • Experience leading pilot programs, referral programs, partnerships, or product-led growth motions.

  • Experience building a content engine that consistently turns expertise into trust and demand.

This role may be especially compelling for you if:

  • You want to help define a category, not merely compete inside one.

  • You believe the best marketing makes a customer’s world clearer and more useful.

  • You care about brand, craft, performance, and customer trust in equal measure.

  • You want direct influence over a company’s strategy, customer narrative, and growth systems from the earliest stage.

  • You are excited by the opportunity to help build the premium financial operating system for ambitious businesses.

What we offer

  • Meaningful equity and the opportunity to build Ora’s growth function from the ground up.

  • Direct partnership with the founder and meaningful influence over product direction, market positioning, and company strategy.

  • A high-autonomy environment where strong ideas can move quickly from concept to execution.

  • The opportunity to work at the intersection of premium finance, AI, global business, and modern software.

  • A culture built around ownership, craft, clarity, trust, and ambitious execution.

Ora is committed to building an inclusive team. We consider applicants without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
